Rodeo is a 2018 AQHA blue roan gelding that stands just over 14.3 hands tall. He is by Hancock Tripper Blue with sire percentages through the 4th generation, as follows: 37.50% Blue Valentine, 37.50% Rowdy Blue man, and 12.50% Red Man. He is 92.97% foundation.
Dam, LLE Shaye, is by Hesa Peptolena x Yellow Roan of Texas, out of a Docs Jack Sprat and double bred Colonel Freckles mare. Both sire & dam stand 14-2 to 14-3 hands, Rodeo has a baby doll head, big hip, and is really well put together.
Rodeo had extensive ground work as a yearling; lunges both ways, backs up, side passes, stands for the farrier, etc. He was started under saddle the summer of 2020 & then headed north to Minnesota for an additional 90 days of riding winter of 2020/2021. Rodeo has been used at the area sale barns several days a week & is one of the most laid back geldings they’ve seen for some time. He has more ‘whoa’ than ‘go’ but isn’t a ‘dead head’ if you ask him for speed.
Rodeo was utilized as a turn-back horse with Rodrigo Taboga & RTaboga Cutting Horses based out of Weatherford, TX from December 2021 - April 2022. This kind of exposure & training is something we were extremely excited for him to have. We feel very blessed to have met the Taboga’s.
As of summer 2023 he has been started in team roping on the head side.
Rodeo is 5 panel N/N by parentage.
